hit wingfoot today, ran into hardwaterjunkie and mitch131, hey guys ...there was maybe 4 shanties out today,,,the ice was still around 7-10" but lots of wet spots and open water on shore and was increasing as i left also had to watch spots out on the lake....fished out buy the bouys in 13fw didnt mark many fish and didnt get any bites.. didnt seem like fish were moving much. from what i was walking around on out there it wouldnt take much to make this ice very ify ...so be very carefull folks..this may been my last trip unless we get a real cold blast. water temp just under the ice was 32.8 . so again folks this time of year its deceiving be carefull ok.. dont stop posting the best is yet to come i will keep posting my trips good luck hope to run into ya..

was down at tappan sat with my fishin bud,the ice was about 10-11, there was plenty of open spots along shore but you could move away from those and you had good ice. was only 1 other shanty there. started out by the marina in 11 fow, caught a few silver cats and gills, moved to the other side of lake good ice all the way accross the wind was brutal and had to anchore the pop up down, the water was really stained had about 2 feet of visibility caught about 15 gills, 6 cats about 2-4 lbs,a couple perch, and 1 nice crappi, had a silver cat about 4lbs broke my line at top of hole couldnt get to my gaf in time. had lots of fish on radar all day. was gettin em on maggies some on minnies, lake level was dropped about 6 ft. for a bit couldnt keep both rods in the water fish really turned on wound up with a nice bucket of fish cats,gills,perch,crappi, no wallys    hope the ice holds out for one more week-end so i can get up to geneva for some steelies my favorite... the end.................

hit up wingfoot today from about 11am-3:30 was at 10.5 fow out past the island got 10 nice gills 1 perch 1 crappi lost a few more. the fish still skiddish couldnt coax the perch to hit well. the gills were more aggressive, croppi werent moving much. i noticed the fish would move in and out and i could attract them by bouncing a shiney pin min around tipped with maggies i used a gold one. my favorite had to leave before dark. had minnows but they didnt even look at em.got to fine tune my fish finder though.sight fished a little when fish finder bleeped, seemed like fish were coming in from deeper water and then move back. this lake really needs some artificial structure and while im at it should be emo . had a good time for the short time out hope it picks sat for everyone. ice has a crust about 2 inches. see ya out there  good luck............

yep found this cool site and enjoying being here,and yeah all i hear is fishing again? but lets face it im addicted to fishing and my bet so are you hahaha....and do you think single digits would slow us down...no  just means the ice is growing and so is the urge to find another spot to drill....so hello to all of you,hope to pick up some good tips,find some new spots and meet a bunch of other nut burgers that  think ice.and maybe someone could give me a pointer on how to get my blades sharp on my drill.....oh buy the way should u see a red pop up out there with fish flying out the door its most likely not me..ha ha ha or is it??
