Wow.  Took a beating today.  Went off n end by pump house.  Lots of snow and a tough pull.  The ice is very sketchy.  Spud went thru with minimum effort in quite a few spots.  The lake has 2-3" good ice under 6" slop white ice and then water crust and  then snow.  My last time there this year I think.  We did manage to see quite a few crappie on camera which was really cool. 2 small bumps but no solid takes.  Fished from 7am -430pm.  There were 2 shacks on south end.  Not sure if they were doing any better.  Had good company so great day but a few on the ice would have been better.
Tight lines and pick your way out of you head there.  Seriously.

What are the rough wind direction and wind speed guidelines that an ice angler should not go out on Erie out of Cataba and Perry?

Went to n end off beach (private property) wed night around 8 and stayed till 12am.   Ice was good except had that creepy soft layer on top where your boot sinks thur 2 or 3 inches.  It got better near center.    Quite a few sniffers but only 4 medium crappie biters.  Tough day at work the next day.  5 am comes early.
Tight lines.

Went to Medina with a buddy today.  Fished the south end.  North parking lot is closed for construction.  Had a nice time.  Caught a few 1# bass a few throw back gills and 2 keeper perch.  Drilled quite a few holes on the beds that produce in the summer but never really got on em.  A few things.  BE CAREFUL.  Ice was solid 5 everywhere but really really soft under the snow patches.  Any snow on lake and the spud would punch thru with 2 hits.  Even small patches mid lake.  Pick your way out.  Also the whole se end past the point is open and loaded with geese.
Tight lines.

Took a beating today.  Ice was good on n end.  6-8 inches everywhere. Drilled a bunch of holes and tried 28-36 fow.  No perch on camera and vexilar was a ghost town.  Did happen to see 2 uninterested walleye and a blue gill on the cameras but no dice.
Tight lines.

Took the raft to new London but had hunters in the blind so I didn't stick around.  New london had some thin ice around the e shore and ramp. Went to Wellington after.  No ice yet.  Managed to pull a few small crappie near the ramp.  With this weeks temps, it should be starting to form.  Tight lines.

Took the raft out to cast the reefs today.  Lake had some ice around the shore and some floating.  Around 1/4 inch thick.  Hopefully wont be long.  Didn't stick around to fish too long.  The 2 duck blinds had spreads out and guys working the birds so didn't want to mess their hunt up. Tight lines.  .

Hi all,
Went to pump house on nw corner.  19 FOW.  Caught a dozen crappie on bottom with horizontal white glow jig and waxie between 8-930 am.    Left my spud bar on the ice.  It's orange and black with a t handle and a zip tie thru the top.  Anyone by chance pick it up?
Thanks.

Thanks

Went out this morning. Ice good.  5-7 inches.  There was some open water by east ramp.  Be careful.  I put in in front of trucks and ice was solid there.  Fishing real slow.  Fished south end 5-7 foot of water.  Drilled 10-15 holes.  2 nice gills and about a dozen throwbacks.  Quite a few sniffers, buy not many biters.  No one doing well.  15 groups on s end.  Everyone moving.  Barometer was steady with a slight rise from 29.58 at 7am to 29.77 at noon.  Catching just wasn't in the cards today.  Good luck and be safe if anyone goes out.
