Buddy is fishing at Long Isalnd and North Fork right now. Ice 5-7" both places. Haven't been there myself so use common sense when going on the ice.

Fished NF today from 12 till dark.  Bite was stupid slow and the ice was very marginal.  3-4" where I was fishing and a lot it was crap white ice.  I'd give it at least a few more days and spud your way there.

Fished NF on Thurs 12/16 from pre-dawn to dusk.  I may have had all of LI to myself until around 1 or 2pm.  Walked away w/ 9 gills and 4 crappie.  Bunch of toss backs and not a single eye :-[  Not much action in the am but the bite picked up around 2 or 2:30.  Ice was better today.  I walked all over the place and everything I drilled was at least 6".  Good ice.

I have never fished Indian, Were is NF and is LI (long Island)? I live down in southwest Ohio (Harrison) so I will not be able to come up much, but it sounds like a great place to fish. Is there any particular spots to try for perch?  Is it hard to find public parking? Thanks.

Can the Indian Lake pro staff answer fwei because i do not know the directions that well.

As far as parking you can park on the side of the road. Make sure your pulled all the way off or you could get a ticket. When your on Long Island and you will see all the cars parked you can go to the left and around the point and you will see everyone fishing Norfork. If you go to the right is what eveyone refers to as long island.

I started a new section for meeting a partner. You can post something there and when you are coming. You can also look at the Indian board and a lot of times guys say there going that day and anyone can join. This way your out with someone who knows the ice.

Be Safe.

A good spot for Perch fishing is Paradise Is.

Directions for you:

Bring I-75 North to S.R. 274
Go East on 274, through Jackson Center and on out to S.R. 235. (There will be a 4-way stop at Indian Lake High School.
Turn Left to head North toward Indian Lake, just up the road you'll come to a stop sign, turn Right.
Follow this into the town of Russell's Point (about 1 mile.)
Go through the light at US33 and make a left at the second intersection which is S.R.366.
Follow 366 through town, you'll pass Taco Bell, a Pharmacy, etc.... When you come out to the main body of the lake you'll see a pull-off with a couple of docks and a parking lot.
The Perch will be about 200' away.

Hope that helps.

You are welcome! It's something that I'm happy to do. I'll put you on fish if I have to sit you down right next to me when I find them.
