2020/2021 On-line Tournament! / Looks like it is time
« on: March 01, 2017, 10:47:45 AM »
Looking at the weather for the next week and the fact the water is now over 40 degrees think it is time to call it. So Slab what do you think?

General Discussion / How dumb do companies think we are?
« on: January 21, 2017, 12:39:40 PM »
I once bought a lawn mower that had a warning not to use it as a hedge trimmer, but today's entry takes the cake. I ordered some new socks to try and help keep my feet warmer ice fishing. They arrived today with complete instructions on how to put socks on your feet. They started with take one sock and pull it on one of your feet. Ended with repeat above steps for opposite foot.

IFO North East Ohio Panfish Series / Suggestion for Nimi Tourney

Since the weather is not going to cooperate and give us ice maybe we should plan on having the tourney using boats. The dock tourney rules could apply.

JawJacker / Christmas present Jaw Jackers
« on: January 08, 2017, 06:30:51 PM »
Got two Jaw Jackers for Christmas and finally got to use one today. Set up looking at the instructions seemed complicated but wasn't. Went off twice first time was a 9 inch perch. Not sure why it went off second time as bait was still there so don't think it was a fish. So far like what I am seeing.

Mogadore Reservoir / CLR 1/8
« on: January 08, 2017, 06:23:02 PM »
Fished at CLR from 9-3. Caught seven 9 inch perch and about 30 gills maybe 8 were 8 inch or better. Caught my first fish with my new Jaw Jackers on a minnow other than that the rest were caught on a glow pin min tipped with a waxie. Shock actually used my shanty. Was having trouble seeing my flasher and using the shanty solved the problem. Must be getting soft was nice to get out of the wind. Sorry Slab forgot to measure the ice but I would say 4 inches. Here is a pic of the first Jaw Jacker fish.

General Discussion / New gear testing
« on: December 30, 2016, 10:43:50 AM »
I got 2 Jaw Jackers for Christmas and I wanted to test them out so bad I put a 5 gallon bucket of water in my deep freeze. Once it froze broke out the gas auger and drilled a hole and set up a Jaw Jacker on it. Only problem it has been 5 hours and not a bite yet. Guess I will have to wait for real ice. LOL

After no luck on Nimi we hit North and did much better. I fished 12:30-3:30 ended up with about 50 gills, 2 perch and a crappie. All caught in 7fow with a waxie tipped jig.

Got mine today it is a Frabill palm rod. It is really nice. As I have never seen one before may take a minute to figure out how to put the line on. Now I just need ice so I can test it out.

Shanty Help / Genz Trap Pro
« on: November 16, 2016, 12:11:57 AM »
Well broke down and got a used shanty. Guy who sold it never made any mods to it so it is a clean slate. So far only mods I made was to install eye bolt and washers where the towing rope was attached. I also put one on the back of the sled incase there is ever a situation where I may need to tow another sled behind mine.

Fishing Partners / Looking for a new partner Nimi/Portage area
« on: November 05, 2016, 09:22:56 PM »
Well the guy I had done most my ice fishing the last couple years looks like he will not be able to go this year. Busted up his knee and needs to get replacement surgery it sounds like. Fish mainly Nimi but some on portage. Do most of my fishing during the week but am retired so can do some nights and weekends. Also am looking for a partner for the NEO Panfish Series.

General Discussion / Looking for used flipover
« on: October 08, 2016, 05:31:07 PM »
Am going to break down and actually get a flipover this year. Looking for a used one man if I can find one as I am really just a bucket buzzard at heart and probably will rarely use it.
