General Discussion / Technical flasher question

Hey guys wondering if any of the electronically advanced members could weigh in I recently coverted my lowrance hds 4x to a portable n I was wondering if the digital flasher feature will read the same as a traditional dial flasher or are these two different types of "reads" if that makes sense also any tips on settings any members are aware you have to change on lowrance models when you change over to the ice ducer thanxs guys

So I've been gearing up so excited to get all my combos together before it starts n before I know it I'm at 6 combos n still plan to add two more that I've convinced myself I can't live without I currently have a cabelas soft zip bag that really holds about 5 n I've decided really want to sell it and move up really like the idea of a hardside case but like to b light as possible and of course affordable but when it comes to protecting your tools is there a price too high ?any of the fellas with the obsession like mine got any products they advise for Say 8 combos thanxs in advance being in Columbus you don't get to put hands on a lot and pics can only help so much

ok guys so pretend you are a beginer to intermediate at best and you only had one day per year to fish northeast/akron area for panfish combo preferably perch first crappie second and gills third where would you fish for keeper fish not numbers of littles of course you can ad things like parking convience or nice helpful locals or other factors that help make the call thanks in advance guys

I am trying to trade my 8" Mora for a 6" Mora have a nimrod cordless drill adapter but 8" doesn't work  I live in columbus and I am leaving 2 am Sat morning for lake st clair michigan to take my son for his first ice trip for his 8 th birthday my Aug has some paint chipping 2 yrs old but blades are great works fine also would be willing to buy 6in Mora or any brand that would work with nimrod adapter within reasonable drive  of columbus thanxs in advance guys

FISHED SUN 930AM-600 PM DECIDED TO TRY AN OLD FAITHFUL GOT MY FIRST BUCKEYE LAKE PERCH EARLY 10 IN KNEW THEY WERE THERE FINALLY GOT ONE A 12 IN CRAPPIE THEN BITE REALLY STALLED DECIDED TO TRY A SPOT I GOT GILLS AT NIGHT UNDER LIGHTS 4PM TILL DARK AND PRECEDED TO GO ON THE BEST RUN OF GILLS EVER ON PUBLIC WATERS DIDNT COUNT EM YET ABOUT TO CLEAN EM BUT I GOT AT LEAST A DOZEN TO 16 OVER 8 1/2 IN BET THERES SEVERAL OVER 9 LOST TWO BEAUTIFUL PINK COLORED GUYS THAT PUSHED 10 IN.LONGER THAN MY 8 IN HOLE N LOST EM THREW 2 GILLS BACK 3 DINK SAUGEYE  AND A FAT CHANNEL I SAID IT BEFORE I CAME OUT AND FISHED SUN THAT BUCKEYE HAS THE BEST INLAND PANFISHING IN CENTRAL OHIO AND I BELIEVE I DONT CATCH THROWBACK PANS AT BUCKEYE

I'm following up with a new question from a previous post guys Im wondering if there is a GPS app or even paper maps far as that goes that could get me some insight on private lake candlewood it's 250 acre lake according to the website looking for an area to start in

Buckeye lake / 2-1-15 supebowl snow rain was it worth it

hell yeah it was got there 830a left 830p no action i was looking for during snow but in between the snow and rain begining the crappie heated up them the eyes started in once the rain started and hit steady until it really peaked near dark bout 430 the rain was relentless but so was i stopped counting eyes at 25 throwbacks :o only one keeper 17 in. very fat 3 keeper crappies two were 12 in. and threw back two channels one over 5 lbs took near 10 min to get em in hit on my new clam spooler combo 24 in ultralight 3 lb micro ice line meet up with a local named will we fished it out together he did good too looked like i had him beat and the tortise caught the hare he ended up with 5 nice crappie n a very nice gill we measured ice 9 and 10  in on scoop handle once all this rain on top refreezes should be pushing 11 to 12 in, when we walked off there was a good two inches of rain better bring boot spikes  8) ;D 8) all in all had sum great fellowship and good acton

i just thought id share with everyone how pleased i was with my bait i got from r and r bait they got bass minnows that are huge i didnt want to pay 6 bucks a dozen for shiners but wanted a big presentation way cheaper no pump on em not one died they were top notch n they got a great selection even got couple hand augers in the store plenty of jigs combos pimples and awesome ratso selection mark my words u get their bait u will see the difference glad to have em here ;D

ended up getting out 3:45 left 7:45 bout 4 hrs ice was expanding like crazy after 6 felt like earthquakes under our feet exspansion pushes all over saw a fourwheeler going in near dark if considering to bringing sno gos out this weekend  same about 5 inches maybe 6 where i fished 2 throwback eyes 1 channel 2 keeper gills 2 nice crappie fun night no worries weekends gonna be nice but i encourage you to check ur own path lots of new pushes

wondering if anyone in the know could share any tips on the best places on the way to west basin from columbus i could detour to get a good selection of ice tackle need to restock panfish jigs been looking for some those smallest buckshots spoons n pimples been in short supply everywherei been too, thinking of looking to catch some perch this weekend if anyone has tips on good baits for them

So got a first timer out with me fished with him till 5 am then he had to go one tip up bite all night till Sun came up but once the sun came up had steady action all day  stopped counting throwbacks at 13 one keeper eye over 16 and a respectable 11 3/4 crappie ice was good nothing under 5 in. N very clear wind chill was making ice all night and day was fishing 5 ft on ne corner of island w/house

Putting an invite out I'm hitting buckeye up later friday night and I know being new to the sport or forum can be puzzling so any newbies or anyone whos looking to have fun and try some night light fishing are welcome to join up staying out Fri night thru Sat until dark I'm gonna put up a multi purpose green shelter too look for and you can always for runway lights I'll have a lot of em my name's Chris n I'm taking my cell out with me so pm me if intrested I don't have any sonar n handcrank auger so if you have either it can really help us stay mobile n find fish low wind decent temps so not bringing a heater so keep in mind if u plan to join hope to see you all out Sith fish on ice instead of under it

General Discussion / need some experience advice about night lights

i had this crazy idea of using a submersible hydraglo light right down a hole at night for crappie n eyes any ideas if this can attract in winter pattern pretty experienced in soft water but curious bout winter thanx in advance
