Hey guys wondering if anyone had a good insight into what makes an effective dead stick rod more specific for walleye in the upper end size like a fast tip to detect the bite but strong power? Thanks in advance

I use the Jason Mitchell Walleye meat stick rod.

It has a diferent tip on it. It has spiraled colored tip and it is easy to detect the bite.

I like the 28 inch medium meat stick.

I just use my medium action rods that I jig with as a dead stick rod. I will deadstick a #5 or #7 jigging rapala 3 to 8 ft. off the bottom.

I use same rod for deadsticking as I do for steady jigging. Normally pick it up when I have a fish coming up and move it to get him fired up. I like to keep it 4-6ft off bottom too!
