Heading up north January 22, anyone every fish east twin lake? Staying at Lewiston Lodge any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance
I was up to east and west twin with Mf 87. Did not catch any on east Friday night or Saturday morning.we were out from the lodge, should have been way west of that. Saturday afternoon headed to west twin.found perch on west side .no keepers but hours of fun. The locals give us some pointers. Even talked to the W O on Sunday .he gave us more ideas . Oh yeah on 10" of clear ice with 6" snow on top. Hard to get around even with a smitty sled.

One thing we are told is to use ice picks to pull ourselves out of the water. My tip is to kick with both feet together like a dolphin .this will help push you up onto the ice better than kicking one foot at a time.

Snowcone is right ,I checked a pond today that was 50% ice .I could reach the ice from shore it was 2 plus inches .So in a few days half will be safe and the other half bad .All i can say is SPUD or swim.

3/1/14 ice was 12" with about 1" of slush on top .The edge at the boat dealer was 10' wide with 8" of good ice .The ramp looked like crap.so we got on about 20 yards to the left.We went out to the tall stump set up fished all after noon in 6' of water. I had a first timer with me ,that thought i was crazy for ice fishing .After catching 15 cats 5 gills and 2 crappie .He told me not to forget his number on my next outing.I think he's hooked .

MCSports used to sell a wax that was in a bottle like shoe polish for your skis .You just put it on with the applicator let it dry and hit the slope. It would be great for our sleds . And the wife would not be missing her iron .
