Title: Looking for a good spot for perch
Post by: Catman345 on February 23, 2015, 07:18:37 PM
I've fished Nimi in the summer but this is the first year I've done hard water. I've gone out once and got nothin so I was wonderin if any of you guys knew good spots for perch? I fish for all panfish but my buddy's and I wanna catch some perch for my one friends mom so we were lookin for a spot. Also I heard at a bait shop on East Resevior that people had been catching walleyed up on the north end, any of you know about this? Thanks for any help!

Find some deep water over 15 feet.  It seems like the time is more important than the place.  I find it best early in the morning till 10 or so and 3 till dark is best for perch.  You have to weed out lots of small ones, but there are some nice ones out there.  Caught them on both minnows and waxworms.  Just my 2 cents.

Agreed.

Park at C6 and walk out toward the islands or dam.

Fish close to the bottom, in deeper water, during low light hours.

You'll have to weed through the small ones.
