Title: Ice conditions
Post by: fishsee5 on February 11, 2015, 01:39:35 PM
I was out last week and know there is plenty of ice, but was wondering if all the snow melted off with the little warm up. The walk was brutal last week with a foot of snow and slush with 2 inches of water on top of ice. Plan on coming up this weekend. Thanks for the info!

Fished yesterday out of 305 ramp. Could not be  any better. Not  flat ice  but  solid. Where  foot prints or tracks  from  the slides are they are frozen in. 2 to 3 inches of white ice on top of 7 inches  clear ice. wear your creepers.

Be careful heading out at the 305 launch, pressure crack opened up at the stone causeway, flooding across ice. Couldn't get back into the marina, had to walk further up the lake to get off. Was smooth sledding other than there.

Thanks twostate.  I was heading for the docks in the morning.

I'll check the area just south of the docks.  Not sure what it is called.  There is a out out, parking, and a nice ramp like area to pull the sled onto the ice.

A walk out from there can get you to the underwater road bed.
