At this time I would update all who are considering fishing the series in the coming weeks that it is a strong possibility that the wingfoot event will need to be rescheduled due to uncooperative weather paterns. I think we will move wingfoot to sunday january 24th and reschedule mosquito to sunday february 21st. Please check the site often for further updates! Thanks!

Attention fellow icemen, just a side note to remind all of us to remember the guys who help us with our ice fishing obsession. The guys who sponsor the NE OHIO PAN FISH EVENTS go above and beyond to help me any way they can , these guys supply us with advertising,prizes,coffee,food, and just all around excellent support. I ask that we return the favor on event day and every day we hit the water in their area. A lot of work goes into these events behind the scenes to make them happen for us. So let's give a little back and get our bait and last minute needs from the ones who help us.

Hey Nate, what's the ruling on ice thickness for a tournament?? Would we fish only safe areas and still keep a tourney or cancel it?? Just trying to figure out the nimi tourney logistics and what not. Would we move to a safe lake to get the tourney in ( lake already in the series)?

Parking Lot C-5 does not have a boat ramp. Will check-in actually be at Lot C-5 or at Lot C-1 (Ramp at north end) or Lot C-6 (Ramp at south end) or Lot at Main St. Ramp or Campground Ramp?

Nimisilla event is scheduled for Sunday 1-17-2016, check in starts at 6:30 am and weigh in starts at 2:45 pm. Entry fee is $30 per team or individual. Well finally found an old thread with rules from last year then some clarifications way down in the responses - such as what actually is the required safety equipment and that partners must stay within talking distance of each other. You'd added perch and changed the number of fish weighed in other odd location posts. You also changed the check-in location in a different post. Anything else changed? Seems a pretty convoluted way to provide rules for an upcoming event. Can't you provide a easily found 2016 complete list of rules before the event?

I apologize for not getting the rules posted in a better format, I work 60-70 hours per week and spent my days off obtaining permits,sponsors,having fliers printed,banners,delivering those fliers and banners to all the sponsers,make arrangements for donations,advertising ,making phone calls,emails,and the list goes on and on. But I am very sorry for dropping the ball on this matter and will work hard in the future to correct it.

No question it takes a huge amount of time and effort to organize and prepare for a tourney, vastly more than most people realize, and you are to be commended for doing so.

Thanks snow cone,a lot goes into this behind the scenes and it's extremely hard to plan with poor weather conditions like we've had this season. It's hard to juggle when so much happens during the summer and no one's thinking about ice fishing

I can't even imagine how much work goes into these events, and you do it all on top of a time intensive job. We're all so grateful for everything you do to make the ice season more enjoyable :D thank you!

Just drove by Nimi right before dark. The whole lake is wide open except for the very shallow portion of the coves......

I think we will be OK to fish the bays like c-5 etc, I'm on pins and needles right now until we have good fishable ice, keep checking in for updates,I will personally check the ice Saturday.

if nimi is open now its goin to pushing it for the weekend I believe, maybe some of the other lakes will freeze first to get on...?

My buddy walked a 100ft off the pavilion today at wingfoot, but he didn't check the thickness though. The whole lake is locked up right now

well he has more kahunas than me because I would be baby steps pounding aaway with my spud. ;D lets guess on ice thickness right now , I say 3 " at most because itys only 15 ft deep.

I have spotters on the lake today and it is almost completely open water again. It is possible that wingfoot could be moved forward to this upcoming sunday. After checking the conditions I will update,stay tuned.

OK fellow ice fishermen I think it's safe to say at this point it will be a GO next weekend for the wingfoot lake event,check in will be at the Pavillion at 630 am followed by a quick pep talk ! As of yesterday there was between 3.5 and 4" of ice and growing,pending tonights rain I believe we will be clear. Stayed tuned for updates. Be advised open water does still exist in areas of wingfoot. As always be safe and spud your path on and off the ice. With next week's cold Temps our conditions should improve

??? Did you read fishingful's report and look at his photos? Open areas have grown substantially during single digit temps. Forecast is still below freezing but steadily increasing temps the rest of the week.

Mogadore bait and tackle is on mogadore road. 8-10 min from the lake. Just south of mogadore lake.
Like I posted there was a guy fishing the north ramp a few hundred yards from the launch. I don't have first-hand experience on the ice there. There has been people on that area scince last Friday. It was 3.5 inches then. I live 5 min from wing foot so will keep checking.
I have seen post where nimisilla is worse off.

The wingfoot event will continue as scheduled unless conditions change, if necessary I will limit the areas we can fish. I have eyes on the lake pretty much daily including my own. Winds are supposed to decrease tremendously so that should help our cause,keep checking back for further information

After check in we will go over it as a group,then we will all launch from the boat ramp,the winds have decreased and I'm hoping with 3 days till the tournament it may still freeze over completely, regardless we will still have a event,hope to see you there, it's a lot of fun

Thanks, getting pretty pumped the series is getting ready to start,it's been my goal to get people out on the ice and enjoy some friendly competition and get some fresh air. I think we all can use a break from the everyday hustle of life. Our sponsors have donated some great stuff I will be giving away at each event along with the cash pay outs and the big fish pots.
