I can appreciate bass fishing of any kind, it requires a lot of patience and casting skill! I tend to lean more towards panfish like crappie and gills but I'm going to try and put crappie aside and target saugeye instead because I've yet to pull one through the ice even though I've caught a handful or more in the summer seasons.

Alum Creek / all the help I can get!!!
« on: November 29, 2015, 08:54:58 AM »
I'm gonna be hitting alum a lot more than I did last season, are there any tips, tricks or info of any kind that anyone is willing to share??? If you dont want to share publicly you can pm me. I've been targeting crappie a lot through the ice but now I'm ready for a challenge, I figure saugeye would be a good start and maybe muskie through the ice would be great but I'll stick to saugeye for a bit so any tips to get them eyes up would be much appreciated!

Oh, and I know this is an ice fishing site but that shouldn't stop any of us from sharing info year round. I'm a year round fisherman and it also upsetting that the only 2 sites available are IFO and OGF. Anybody wanna go in on a year round fishing site with me? LoL jk

Just a bit of information for ya frozen, this is an ice fishing site, and listed under the tournament thread is everything about the tournaments. We update the site as we have information to pass along. Feel free to post anything you feel neccessary. There is not a lot  of site traffic in the off season. Every weekend until safe ice are the alum creek dock tournaments, they are located just north of columbus, right in the heart of central ohio, see you there!

I live in Delaware city, Delaware lake is my practicly my backyard. My problem is I can never find current info when I need it. I only find info on tourneys after they've ended and its really upsetting because I want to participate but I'm always too late bc I can't find info in time

Anything in Central Ohio??? Dave and the other moderators dont update the site often enough to get info year round instead of only 3months out of the year. I really like this site and I'd use it more often if it was updated more frequently

As of right now the lake is chocolate milk its so stirred up due to all the rain we've gotten in the last 2 weeks. I was there yesterday and the bite was VERY slow. I only caught one crappie and it was a tosser. Tomorrow is the trout release so I'm focusing all my efforts on that until the spring crappie run mid April early may

Ice is plenty far enough from the bank but the lot next to I.R is under 6-8' of water and half the parking lot at the horseshoe boat ramp is under too. Hopefully in a week or so the water will drop enough to cast a line or two! =-)

Went to check the withdrawal of the ice but its still up to the banks but I didn't check for thickness. Hopefully it will start pulling back soon otherwise I won't be casting any lines until the release at blue limestone. I've got ur number A, I'll give u a call or Txt u as soon as I see any change!
