Nate (Ntoiceman36) is the tournament director and i will make the final call on safety regarding the ice conditions for tournament day.
Here's the rules: The most important rule is to have fun and enjoy a little friendly competition between fellow ice fisherman!!
Big fish pots are 100% pay back.
Following the weigh in will be a drawing for some prizes, tickets will be handed out as you check in.
Spotters will be used to monitor tournament events and safety
Check-in starts at 6:30 am
Weigh-in at 3:00 pm

Check-in and weigh-in will take place at all sponsor locations, with the exception of Nimisila. Check and weigh-in will be the C-6 parking
RULES:
These are both individual tournaments and a series. The winner will be determined at year end by points. Points per event based on participants and will be cumulative over the 3 events. (Example: If 25 people participate in an event, the winner gets 25 points with last place getting 1.) The winner also gets 5 bonus points, as do the teams weighing in the largest bluegill and crappie.
Must have proper safety gear.
Can fish alone or with a partner, entry is $30 either way. If no fish are caught, all money will roll over to the next event. You can keep your legal limit for eating (30 panfish), but only 10 panfish (crappie and bluegill) may be weighed in. The fish you weigh in are your choice. Ties will be determined by a sudden death fish off.
No tip-ups, 2 rods per person.
All lake waters are open to fishing, where legal public access permits. Best ten fish weighed in with a maximum of 5 being crappies. Perch are permitted in the series from this season forward. Any fishermen late to weigh in will be disqualified. Top 3 spots will pay out, payout will be determined by amount of participants. All state, federal and site specific fishing regulations apply.
IFO and our sponsors will have some prizes to give away, to be determined later.
Tournament directors, IFO, sponsors, are not liable for any damages. These are fish at your own risk events.

No perch ? Why
-
How many spots payout?
-
It got to complicated last year adding perch. Plus only 1 was caught at Nimi tournament. So for Nimi at least we've excluded them this time.
Payout will be based on number of entries.
-
Lol I mean how many places payout? 1/2/3?
-
Are we required to walk out from the rally site ( i.e. the ramp at causeway bait) or are we permitted to drive to othef access areas of the lake????
-
Here are the panfish series rules for 2015. FINALLY!! Any additional questions can be posted in this thread.

We will pay out depending on how many show up with a max of the top 3 places getting money.
You can drive to other areas of lake. We will have a spotter checking during the tournament to make sure everyone's fishing at Nimi. If your vehicle isn't there it will result in a disqualification.
-
Do you have a address to get to c-5
-
There's no street number. But it is on Christman Road north of Comet road. If you're traveling north on Christman Road then parking lot number C-5 will be on your right side shortly after the boat ramp but before the campground entrance road. Let me know if this helps.
-
Was just trying to get a GPS point to get there at least close to there only fished it once before don't remember how to get there
-
What are are you including when you say Proper Safety Gear?
-
I'm thinking I'll be there again. Last year was my 1st time. Might as well get out there as much as we can ;D
-
Safety gear is a rope, cleats, whistle, and picks.
I don't have a gps for C-5, but if you Google the intersection of Comet and Christman roads you'll be right there. It's on Christman a half mile north of Comet.
Hope to see everyone there!

That is the entrance to the campground. Heading south on Christman.....Go past the campground entrance about 1/4 mile on the east side of the road you will see the C-5 lot. There is a wood sign there that says "Parking Lot C-5"
-
I should be able to fish 2 of the 3 tournaments. I have never fished mosquito or west branch so this will be a learning experience for me.
-
West branch will be the toughest it's not a very good ice lake in my opinion
-
It's the toughest for sure. There's been some safety concerns about fluctuation in water levels and current making for dangerous conditions. If it's not safe, we may move the last one to Mogadore. We'll see as it gets closer.
-
How many teams is there gonna be at nimi any idea
-
That is what the poll at the top of this thread is for, to give us an idea, hopefully every votes either single or team!
-
Gotcha I'll be there flying solo probably
-
Crappie gunna send you a pm
-
Is there a size limit at nimi
-
Crappie are a 9" minimum per odnr regulations
-
I just drove by to get an idea of where C-5 is. I dropped a pin on my phones GPS and the roundabout location of C5 is
Portage Lakes State Park
5929–5999 Christman Rd
Akron, OH 44319
United States
Hope this helps somebody!

-

Study a map and if you have a camera bring it. Very weedy in places and the camera tells you what's down there.
-
Nate can tell you I have about anything I should need. If I get there early enough I can have a few things to loan out I have a couple extra vexilar and can load extra shantys. Hopefully I'll get there in time
-
No matter what you are there on time, I got you covered!
-
Still going on?? Fished mosquito today and left around 7 and the ice was a mess. Very sloppy. I'm guessing the decision will be made in the morning when everyone gets to the lake?
-
We are still fishing today
-
Good luck to everyone today! I wish I could be there but have fun and be safe
-
The tournament was a success, it rained a bit in the morning then was fine! We had 13 teams and they corralled some nice fish. Including a crappie just under 15 " and a bonus 3 pound walleye!! Thanks for joining us this Sunday and a special thanks to Mogadore bait and tackle for sponsoring this event you guys were great
-
Thanks for putting it on it on I had a blast. It was really nice all of the northeast fisherman. Congratulations to all of the winners.

Yes. Same rules as Nimi.
Thanks sounds good!! Count us in!
-
R perch included in mosquito tournament or still out? Also, do u have to stay together or can u seperate?
-
I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting cranked up for the skeeter tournament. I've already got my starting area planned out. Making a trip to bass pro tomorrow to spend a gift card. They probably won't have anything I need, but who knows maybe I'll get lucky. Hope to see everyone there. Bobby

Perch are still out. And your partner can separate as long as you stay within "talking distance" in the same vicinity.
