Banker posted a link in the ice safety category that got me thinking.  We're usually on the ice before now, enjoying the sport we love, and maybe some fresh fish dinners.  But not yet this year.  So all of us are very anxious to get some holes drilled and start fishing, that being said, we may be tempted to push or luck, so to speak, by venturing out on thinner ice than we normally may fish on.  Please don't!!  That extra day or 2 of ice fishing isn't worth losing our lives and never seeing our families again!!

X2 on that!! I read many online papers from up in Minnesota and they have had people going through, ice breaking away, leads opening up, etc.!! And it's been a lot colder up there!! Let's not push it!! No ice is safe!!!

I agree. Just because we are all excited to get out lets not push it. A few fish in a bucket is not worth your life.
