I know it's still pretty early, but I'm thinking about building ice fishing rods again this year. I'd like to see how much interest there is before I start getting supplies, though. Let me know if you're interested. They make pretty good Christmas gifts too.
Here are some pics of two of the ice rods I built last year.
The first (purple thread) is a 28.5" composite microlight panfish rod. It features an EVA foam Tennessee style grip with graphite reel locks, lightweight stainless steel guides, and Hi-vis orange tip. This rod is also available in other lengths and actions. Prices start at $50.
The second (neon green) is a 26.5" fiberglass "power noodle" panfish rod. It features a 4" super grade cork handle, extremely light and durable titanium Recoil guides with hi-vis green tip. These rods can be custom tailored to your specs. Many rod sizes, actions, blank materials, guide types, and handle styles are available. Prices start around $120. Reels not included.
