New to ice fish ohio. Out today for first time . I fished our familys lake and was luckey enough to land 33 gills from about 3:30 till dark. Kept some to eat and released the rest. In Mahoning county and have about 4- 4 1/2 inches of ice . We used a safety rope to check the ice. Surface is super smooth so you may want to use your cleats. Good luck everyone and be safe!
