People are always skiddish when it comes to meeting new personality on a website to all who are new don't take it personally best advice 90% of guys on ice are good folks be courteous n ask if you feel unshure of things and odds are the next cool guy you meet on the ice is on Ifo as for the ice guides senerario who cares to each their own buckeye is a great place to trek off on your own n find fish

Hey guys wondering if anyone had a good insight into what makes an effective dead stick rod more specific for walleye in the upper end size like a fast tip to detect the bite but strong power? Thanks in advance

If the invention don't work out try Google the nimrod adapter I think it's mills farm n fleet or blaines farm n fleet got mine 30 bucks shipped has applications list of what it fits clam design is pretty nice Dave just didn't want to pay the price n add all that. Weight you are not gonna need those big handles with say 18v but newer 21v lithium may produce enough torque u may wanna hold on I run 18v porter cable 5" Mora and the nimrod light weight complete one hand control

I don't have the clam plate I just bought the nimrod adapter piece did 13 holes of 15" ice on  st .Clair last year with 5" blade one 18 v battery portercable I like the clam just feel the clam cost a lot more and adds weight to your situation which I don't feel is good for your cuff mills farm n fleet 30 bucks shipped worked good hope it helps

Hoping some more experienced Erie anglers can weigh in I'm asking what rod action n power I would want to use for big eyes baits on Erie of course action n specs change with manufacture and price but I intend to fish 1/2 oz jigging raps up to 1 oz pimples wondering if anyone has specific models they use as a go too I'm feeling like a 28-30" frabill bro series would be a good model for the price just a little worried about med action when I'd b using 7/8 or 1 oz baits like to be 60$ n under range thanxs in advance
