Title: Fished our guts out today
Post by: crv423 on January 20, 2015, 08:09:48 PM
Fishnislife, John Kernan, and I fished 6am till 7pm and all we had to show for it was 4 crappie, 1 cat, and 1 eye. We fished 7fow to 45fow, points, flats, stumps, and creek channels. We used tip ups, jaw jackers, minnows under bobbers, jigging raps, vibes, sweedish pimples, jigs and waxies, and a handful of other lures. We did mark a lot of fish all day, but just couldn't get them to hit, they would follow it up, but wouldn't commit. It still was a great day on the ice, we could've join the crowds in the known spots and caught fish but I think its that much better when you find your own spot no one else has fished and it pays off with some keeper fish. Catching is only half the fun, the other half is the journey you take to find a great location, especially when all the home work you've done pays off. Good luck and be safe.

Sounds like a good day. How thick is the ice over there?
