The wife just won the lottery to fish at Castalia (her first entry). We will be fishing the day before Thanksgiving. Has anyone fished there and do you have any tips. Thanks in advance.

Drove past Long Island and five parked at first pull off, fishing far side of bay. The ice in the Turkey Foot channel was only 1.5"

ODNR said last week that the Robin is now a year round resident of Ohio and is no longer an indication of Spring. Bring on the cold.

The Vexilar line of equipment is great. I can't help with the fl-22 as I have an 18. But Vexilar has a great line of videos to get you going. But as soon as you can get on the ice, there will be plenty of people to help.

Talked to a guy fishing in the Blackhawk channel yesterday. Said he was standing on 2.5 to 3" of ice. No spud bar, just an auger and a fishing pole.

Wish I knew you were going. Spent a long weekend on Turkeyfoot. Kept 18, most on minnow at the edge of the channel. Got a few on blue/white tube last night. Kept a couple catfish 20 & 22 inches. Let go a 7lb one. Going up next weekend till Sun morning. Ratherbe and me going to hit the docks Sun. morning at CJ.
