Title: NW Ohio ice
Post by: handymanjeff on January 07, 2014, 11:49:31 AM
;D Just went out and  checked ice on my pond; New Years Day had 4" before that snow plus this last 13" which blew off during the artic blast. Today I have 8 - 10", 6" of clear with 2 - 4" cloudy on top depending on the areas I checked. Ice was really popping as it was making more. Calling for high 30's this weekend, which shouldn't phase it. Will be checking Nettle Lake this weekend as I heard rumors of 5" on outlet at North end off Wilson Dr. :D

Glad to hear it! I hear a lot of talk about nettle lake. Is it pretty good?

I've had great luck with the crappie. Lots of them from 9 - 13. Normally suspended in 25 fow and good gills in 8-9" normally in about 14 fow. Occasionally a walleye.
