 My ice fishing catfish guide , Ntoiceman36 is going to Jamaica for some new recipes for catfish . Imagine jerk channel cat or maybe jerk bullhead . I'm sure it will be mighty tasty. Also the local ice reports from the watering holes . We will miss him at the docks this Sunday but we understand that his love of catfish comes first !

Has anyone been to Alum since Xmas ? Has the water cleared up ? Has the water level dropped ? And is there ice back around the docks ? Has anyone fished the docks this week and how was the bite ? Thanks for any information .

. Drove around the lake today . The lake is icing up with some open water . With these lower temperatures and light winds it will be locked up in no time. Can hardly contain myself .

This week Ntoiceman36 is feeding mosquitoes in Canada.Fishing is the reason for going,but donating blood is the payment . I hope the walleye aren't too big for the anemic fishermen to reel in .He s up there for 10 days and should have pictures.

 Drove around Nimisilla today saw alot of open water at C-1 ,Open to the dam. the rest of it is going fast . Its the wait for open water crappie fishing.

 With the warm temperature and rain last night. and the mild temps and more rain to come , I'm giving up all hope of getting back out on the ice . It's been and still is one strange winter . The fishing should be pretty good this spring for Crappie as not many were harvested this past winter . My season was 3 days of 4 hours each on the ice and zero fish ,on top of the ice . Oh what memories

Fished off the pier today . Lake is locked in and by next week the ice should fishable .

Show Posts
Drove around looking at different lakes and ponds and the shore ice was trashed and what I could see looked unsafe . I'm not a happy person these days as. I see winter slipping away . So I bought another Jason Mitchell Perch rod which helped little . Maybe a couple visits to Alum Creek docks would help .
