Got out today.  No entry forms up yet, so I had to make my own.  Biggest was 7 inches, but I only took a pic of the first one I caught.  Should this count for first of season???  Came on gill pills.

Came from private pond with weeds.  Was fishing 6 inches above the weeds in 5 feet of water.  Meant to add this with the post, but forgot.  The gill pills were tipped with a maggot.

Yes I was.  In an unconventional way, but I was fully on ice.  I didn't trust the ice, so I sat in the bottom of my shanty to distribute the weight and used a spud bar to bush myself out to the middle of the pond.  Then used a hatchet to chop a hole in the ice and start fishing.
