Ice fishing for saugeyes have been above average up to yesterday, ice is unsafe!

In 7 trips I've got 6 limits! If you dont have a gold and orange number 2,3,4 pimple, you better get some!

Out of the 75 or so saugeyes Ive caught this year 90% have been on this spoon, no minnow!

We were canceled from school today, so got on the Saugeyes from daylight to dark, caught between 20-25, brought home 5 good ones! Had a few nice white bass mixed in!

Between the 4 guys we caught around 75 saugeyes, many , 70%, 14-15".

But we had 19 keepers between, 16-20"

Gold pimple tipped with spikes and un -tipped were best. Snakie Rattler spoon was second best.

Black ice, Swedish pimple has 3rd  best. 5-6 ft of water, North Fork. Fish bit all day.

Great late ice bite on Sat and Sun. And yes Dan went threw the ice but scrambled back out. Limits on Sat, and about 30 fish caught between 10 guys on Sunday.

Most guys left after Dan went through!

There are a few places to park. Ranger said park along the little side road before you get to the bridge. And there is a spot for one vehicle where the rocks start on the left side.

I like to be the guy catching fish. What I've found out is there are active fish somewhere on any body of water, sometime during the day. The window may be small but its there! I was fishing NF yesterday and could only muster 2 fish. Instead of beating a dead horse, I made the decision to pack up all my stuff and make a major move!

As of 5:55 last night I still only had 2 fish. Made a small 25 yard move to deeper water, ended up with 3 keeper saugeye and 5 slab crappies in the next hour!

people call me an idiot for punching to many holes but it was my 27-28 holes with a hand auger that put fish in the bucket!

I give bluegills 5-10 min. I give crappie 10-15 min. I give saugeye an hour then move!

Saturday I drilled 40 holes!

Im about 75% successful days on Indian this year to 25% non-productive!

Having friends and that fish daily also is a good equalizer!

Wow ! Didn't know who you are by your handle name?

The auger is actually my fishing buddy, Dukes!   The drill, battery, and conversion kit, is about 340-360, depending on what DeWalt drill you buy, and how many batteries you get!

Did I talk to you? How many did fish you get? Where you Dans buddy I spoke to when I first got out there?

Got 3 keeper saugeye last night!
