Drove around lake tonight at 4pm not one fishermen brave enough to battle the cold including me. Found one open spot way out in the lake the rest is locked and after tonights temps and Friday the lake should be good to go but be safe and check the area first. I have been in your store many of times but for bass fishing and if you guys have half the stuff for ice you do for bass I will be there this winter you guys do a great job for fisherman thanks
For those of you that don't know me I am a semi professional bass fisherman and also love to ice fish. Well a little recap of my season so far is 17th place at indian 17th at mesquito 7th place ohio river and 18 ohio river. I am currently leading the buckeye division in points and have 1 tourney left hopefully can keep it going and finish 1st then on to Maryland for the regionals at Chesapeake bay so if you have any advice for bass on Chesapeake would be appreciated thanks dan
well fishing did not go as well as planned but had fun and met some new friends on the ice. Sunday got up there at noon and went out with my friend who lives there but does not ice fish so we went with the crowd and caught a lot but only about 10 keepers. Monday went out of gino's and moved away from the crowd caught a lot but only 2 keepers. moved to the metro beach aqnd caught a bunch of fish but only 5 kept. Tuesday went out with my buddy and man was it windy watched 2 shantys go by us and one went way out and into open water caught 50 fish with only 10 being kept. All fish were caught on wax worms and a wiggler bait color was wonder bread. Overall had a great time and got to relax from work an home so it was fun any question pm me
Well it was not the best ice but ice is 2 to 2 1/2 inches at the first pull off at long island the ise is clear so it was strong enough to fish there was 10 guys there at one time and fish were scattered I did catch a 14 1/2 inch crappie pics are on the tournament page
Ice was a good 4 inches at all places I went to but had 1/2 water on top so my best gues is it won't hold up to long be safe and check it and by the way wear your spikes out there
