If Lake side bass pro told you false information its because someone told them the ice conditions  ;D. The family that owns it are great people and family friends

« on: January 14, 2016, 11:58:22 PM »
With the ice being how it is this year I doubt ill spend time at CJ. Just doesnt make sense to when Kiser produces better for me at least during the wet season. Will scout it out better this spring .

C.J. Brown / C.J Brown fish??? Do they exist?
« on: January 14, 2016, 01:43:06 PM »
What does everyone catch at C.J brown? The only fish ive encountered have been dink crappies/bluegill and perch with very low numbers and average size channel cats. Ive kayak fished the lake the last 2 years and ice fished it one.Pretty frustrated because I live fairly close. I always do good at Kiser and Indian . Is this lake under populated with target species or is it just me???

General Discussion / Re: Guide Lines For Spudding
« on: January 12, 2016, 05:44:57 PM »
I only have one season under my belt so not claiming to be an expert. My "technique" goes something like this. Stay on land spud down measure ice. If ice is good to go then ill get all equipment and continue to where I plan to fish. The spud bar gets pushed down forcefully with every step I take. If there are any questionable spots the spud with be used every foot in a 180 degree radius and ice thickness checked. I always try to return the same way I came . Even if spud marks are still visible do not trust them ice conditions change fast. SPUD SPUD SPUD . Carry them ice picks and whistles. Youtube and read up on self rescue techniques and don't chance thin or malformed ice.
