Title: Nothern pike

Im planning on going to michigan in a week or so 2 try 2 land my first northern. any suggestions on tackle and bait to use. gonna b using rods and tip ups

flourocarbon leaders, 20 lb. test work better than wire. if you're fishing shallow water, give them time. they may not run with it, they might just go to the bottom aand sit on it.

Also when your tip-up goes off remember to walk to the tip-up,don't run the vibration through the I've can scare the pike and cause it to drop the bait! ;)

Quick strike rig ,that way there's no waiting and not hooked to deep. Good  luck and post some pictures please.

i know northerns like an easy meal,,they cruz just under the ice looking for bait fish that have frozen and are coming loose.... ;D
