Road trip.  Worth the drive to check them out.  I will make sure to thank them for being a sponsor.  Signed up to their email list too.

If you need a small one for your sled, I found a collapsible one at Home Depot.  They call it the auto emergency shovel.  It is in the garden center.  $9.99

Technical Forum Questions / Do not click here banner

I keep getting a Do not click here banner on the right side edge of the screen.

On my phone, when I zoom in to increase text size, this blocks much of the thread and the other ads.  Is there a way to block it?

See  PC monitor partial screen shot, not zoomed in.

Welcome to the ice Fish Ohio online tournament.

You will still download the entry form below, You must be logged in to download entry

I don't see the link to download the form.  And are fish measured with the mouth closed and the tail fin compressed like the ODNR shows?

I think I would like to give this a try just don't know anything about the lake and don't have a partner, where is C-5 don't know what that means? When will we know for sure if the tourney on the 18th is a go (never know with this crazy weather) would hate to drive 2-1/2 hours and find out it is cancelled

Thanks and tight lines,
Ty

I can be your partner if you want.  I have a 2 man heated shelter, and a flasher.  Newbe to Nimi.  I have been not been on the ice since for decades. Send PM contact info if you want me to be your partner.  I'm in Mentor.

steelneyes,

I tried shouting out the info, but blew out a lung before I could get loud enough to reach you.  So I cheated and posted the topic.  ;D

For those that say my Lowrance Bluewater LFP 160 is old technology, here is the old way to fish the hard water.  Interesting article.

Tried it off the docks.  Worked great on the gills and a few crappie.

Forgot to mention it is guaranteed to work, or is returnable.  The listing was misspelled.  Total including shipping was $35. I was the only bidder.  Starting bid required was $21. :)  The next auction due to close is up to $65.

And I have a gel battery that will fit inside.

I'm working on drawing up a folding shanty.   Plywood lined with rigid fire retardant foam and a neoprene floor.  58" x 58"

Pics 1960's from Lowrance.  Mine is the LOWRANCE LFP-300D Fish LO-K-TOR

But I just scored "The Little Green box" off eBay.  The same model a friend had back In the Old Days.

I know this is a real old thread but I can't resist it. What you need is already invented.  Just let your holes start to freeze over before you leave and put one of theses on top of each hole.

That's the plan, we'll see how the stuff I bought performs on the ice... the big concern is that you obviously don't want something that is going to freeze to the ice. I'll take pictures for sure...

Anybody ever try spraying the bottom with Pam or similar spray to keep stuff from freezing to the ice?  Or maybe brushing on a coating of paraffin at home to treat them?
