For the last two years a group of us guys have went to lake mille lacs in mn. Stayed in ice cabins right on the lake.caught nice perch and walleye.stayed out of macs twin bay.

when u going to devils lake? seen a lot of videos from there. looks like perch heaven.
-
I went to Devil's LAke about 10 years ago and fished with Ted Robinette. It was a great trip and I caught about 40 perch a day. No real monsters, the largest was maybe 112-13 inches. A couple small walleye were caught as bonus fish while perchin. Great learning experience for different presentations not normally seen around Ohio.
Send me a private message if you want more info.
I would love to go again, if my budget could handle it.

I would consider a trip in March after our season is over. WOULD YOU BE DRIVING OR FLYING?
-
I went out their 10 + yrs ago had a great time caught alot of ice jumbo's also buddy mine caught 5lb eye which I ended up sticking my hand down the hole cuz it got off right at the top any how do your homework before going out it's a huge area with some nice fishing, also hit up the casino for dinner a few times they had buffet each night and wasn't bad priced, wish I could remember the outfitters name that we used he was great guy and his wife was too. I will see if I can find any pics from our trip and post them.

Jason Mitchell has a guide service called the perch patrol. Last year we had him on and he said the lake is starting to change and they are really catching a lot of Walleye.
They are still catching perch but not like 10 years ago.
If you have a passport i would hit Lake Simcoe. It is an hour North of Toronto and has a ton of perch. I would be interested in a trip there since it is closer.
Not sure how long it would take to get a passport,

I could see how the perch population is going down hill fast since everyone goes there for the jumbos.
Wonder if they ever fixed the flooding issues that they had when i wa there last with the melt off from the snow?
-
It's my understanding that the flooding actually helps the perch. It adds food to the water. I seen this on show. I think it was In Depth Outdoors.
