There have ben some on other threads that seemed to like the idea of a north vs. south challenge. Please post your thoughts and input here on this thread. Sounds like it'd be a lot of fun! Throw up some ideas on format and locations on here. It would be great!

north vs south , ? that's going to be a tough one, where should the state be divided in half at gps ? is it a pan fish affair? because lake erie is the best fishing in the state it wouldn't be fair to those poor southern folks ...would there be a catfish div ? heeheheheh it would be a fun thing right, like an honorable mention ..would it run for the year, or maybe 3 months at a time? or a month at a time . on line tourney ? because of changing weather / lake conditions between north and south it would be interesting.

Was thinking an annual bragging rights thing. One year a northern lake, the next year a southern one. As also thinking 5 walleye and 5 panfish per team. So we'd pick a lake that had both. Erie would be out. Inland lakes only, because you're spot on about Erie. We'd make the divide somewhere around Columbus. CRV, Dave, Ryan, and the Indian and alum guys would be in the south. John, Russ, you, me and others would be in the north. We could throw in for pots if guys wanted for the winners, up to everyone.

Inland lakes, okay, because the Ohio river can produce some big fish, lol

Sure can! I've got some monster crappie and spotted bad from there. To say nothing of some of the huge catfish!

I would definitely be in for a north vs south competition. Would be nice to meet and fish with IFO northern members. Having both walleye or saugeye and panfish would appeal to a broader number of people. Some sort of pot or losers buy dinner would make it interesting. Hope it happens next year,

just wondered if Maumee Sanusky Rivers would count for Walleyes?
Or The Miami and Ohio Rivers?

you opened a can of worms, lol

We're going to do this on the ice. So we were thinking about a lake with both. Examples are mosquito in the north and Indian in the south. Both those lakes have a good population of panfish and walleye/saugeye. Since there are guys that target specific species, we can do both. Some guys can fish toward the walleye limit while others fish to fill the panfish quota. The 2 sides can weigh in their 5 biggest in each category.
