Got out 5 times including this morning. Fished a private spot this morning and got run off as guy who said he didn't care if I fished it didn't care because he had no say in who could fish there.

Nimmy still has lots of open spots. Checked c1, S Main and both have 2 inches near shore but open spots out farther. Campground shore line crap as always but better a couple feet out. Was alone so I didn't go father out. Suprised but cove south of S Main was half open, thought with winds out of the west it should have been good. OSP was all froze. Checked by the boat house and spud went in with one good hit, but my spud can do that thru and inch and a half. Figure Campground and OSP should be good Monday.

Well I was wrong. The wind tore Nimmy apart as it is now 90% open. Am going to go up Saturday to check ice conditions, should be a couple areas that should be good.

OSP is locked up and Nimmy is 95% locked up and Moggy is from pics I seen locked up so the wind shouldn't be a major problem.

The 50-60 mph winds will put more of a damper on ice forming than the snow. Ice doesn't form real well in 2 footers.

Glad to see you are getting to head home soon. Would send you a text but unfortunely lost both yours and Grants numbers.

I got a grandson that will be going into the Navy in July. I want to get him out on Erie atleast one more time in June before he goes. Over the years I have taken him on headboats a few times but though it would be nice to get him out on a smaller boat one time. I have all the gear we would need for jigging on casting Erie Dearies and worm harnesses though June may be trolling time. I will gladly pay for gas and bait and such.

Think it is about time for the Fat Lady to sing and end the season.

Well good thing I put the gear away when I did, After 250 hours or so on the ice this year on Friday I slipped on my back deck. Lol. Ended up not breaking anything but injured my right leg, sprained my left wrist and badly bruised my left shoulder that still wasn't recovered from the surgery.

I picked up a couple of the Flame King refillable 1 lbers. I know people refill the green ones but it is against the law to transport them once you have per DOT regulations. I believe the fine is up to $10,000 and you could do jail time. Just not worth the risk to me.
