I grew up 60 miles from Devils Lake, so would love to go up sometime for ice fishing.
  I've fished mostly local the last years here.  Just fished Devils Lake a couple summers ago.

Pressure is high 30.25 but looks like it's falling,  so that may be a good sign.  Suppose to snow some tomorrow, so coming precip sounds good. Most people like  a barometer that's moving.  Low pressure is never good. Anyone know if Mogodore has picked up, or is any good?

Thanks slab.  We'll have to try "tethering" a minnow to one hole to see if we can draw in crappie.   :D  We were discussing the other night whether a light by the hole helps, and how to submerse a light.

Does anyone know if minnows work for crappie on Nimi?  We used a light over the holes, caught a few keeper crappie with maggots.  Wondering if minnows work better???

Five of us (two were kids) fished Nimi on Saturday.  First time out this year.  Got a few nice perch (biggest about 10 inches) and about 5 keeper crappie, most of the gills were medium to small to very small!   :D

Would like to see this thread continue.  This is 1-24-15 and no one has updated conditions on Berlin??  Anyone catching anything?  Is the whole lake safe or are there areas you have to be careful of all winter?
