I've had really good luck on the ponds with them, but the areas on Indian that I usually fish are pretty congested so I don't put them out very often. I have gotten some nice bass on them in the past, but you have to be patient. Make sure you bait it with something lively, a good sized minnow or a leech will do.

I actually threw away two old fashioned tip ups my grandfather used to use- I am an idiot sometimes- would love to have those back.

Yes they work. We have members who use them at Buckeye and do well on them.

At Indian for some reason they don't work as well.

I fished for walleyes primarily with just tip ups in Wisconsin. Have caught hundreds of walleyes on tip ups. Willing to show anyone how we fish with them.  it is sweet that u are allowed so many lines down here. In Wis you are only allowed three lines total including jig poles.

Mike , where are you from up here Im in Prairie du chien and a way we found around the three lines is hooking up with some of the old timers who only use one jig pole. We have been into the northern with the tipups never caught a walleye off of one hope my luck will change

We fish the mississippi have had them along the shore with a shiner a foot below the ice in 3 to 6 feet of water and had some strong hits. I have also set up in 25 to 40 ft on the bottom with both shiners and minnows no luck though we are catching sauger and walleye with our jigs tipped with minnows
