Title: Alum 1-25
Post by: triton189 on January 23, 2011, 06:51:24 PM
I will be fishing Alum for the "first" time Tuesday afternoon after my customer visit in Sunbury. I should be on the ice around 2:00pm. Anyone else going to be out?

I may take the day off to hit the hardwater.

I was able to help grab a real nice Musky outa the hole sat afternoon with a buddy. Sat was more of a learning day than anything, did see crappies, gills, musky and perch so next time we are confident to have a good bucket.

I'm going to be out on Alum somewhere this afternoon around 3:30 or so.
Not sure where I'm heading quite yet.

Since I was out of town this weekend I have no idea how the fishing was so if anyone can give a catching report that would be great.

Nice ski MikeL!
I didn't think many were caught under the ice but I guess since there are a good population of them in the lake it's not unheard of.

We didn't get into them at all last night.  I fished the same cove as triton and he caught a few white bass and small crappie.  Better than I did...   zippy.

I'm going to try and hit it again after work.  There in the lake I just need to find them.

As MDBuckeye noted it was a slow evening yesterday. I managed a few small crappie, a few dink gills, & some white bass. However, it was nice to try a new lake...! Thanks CRV for pointing me in the right direction.

Sorry it wasn't a better bite for ya. Found good ice in another area I've been waiting to try, I'll let you know if I find a better bite there.

mikeL - Cheshire market has bass minnows and crappie minnows for good prices.
I'm not sure about anything bigger than that but I just got some of both the other day and they are decent and cheap.

There's a guy, south of the damn, (Gary) that sells chubs and minnows out of his garage. He doesn't always have them but you may get lucky.
