Ice Conditions

Went out last night and ice was starting to honey comb and was still okay but was thinning well woke up this morning to the sound of rain hitting my picture window and  it is raining hard as heck well there goes the ice till next weekend a buddy of mine is over at Indian as I write this and he said nobody is at Long Island at the bridge and he said there was about an inch of water in spots so if you go please be careful and really test the ice with a spud bar thanks dan

Looks like we have to hold out for next weekend.... How think was the ice at North Fork last time anybody checked? The North creek stayed frozen a little longer than the South did... Hopefully it'll just resolidify through the end of the week. Good thing is... if the snow stays away for us, we'll have a lot better ice once it cools back off!

Just called LeVans the ice is 8in.I'll be heading out early in the morning.The only thing about this recession is good that I get to ice fish more.

The only place that Ifound today that was safe was BlackHawk LI open water on the edges I wouldn't take the chance.There was asmall amount of ice on the edges about 1/4 in.
