Was thinking about making a trip somewhere tomorrow to do some open water fishing, maybe to Indian. Never fished it without ice any tips would be appreciated.

Small baits are the way to go on Indian. Small jigs under an ice bobber has always worked the best for me. But you may want to call up there before you go. There is prob ice on the channels. A buddy of mine went to st marys today (similar lake and location) and he said almost all the channels were frozen.

Most channels have a skim on them. Front channel at Andersons is safe enough to drill holes on but over at sunnyside it's all open. Haven't been to Indian yet.

You been fishing bryan?

Yeah I've been fishing but not catching. I can only get out in the morning and the channels are skimmed over.
