Going out Friday and need to know how thick and what quality the ice is. My guess is 2 inches of cloudy ice but hope to here 3-4 inches of pop and locking black ice :)

I was hoping to get to Indian on Monday morning but chickened out because I didn't have any reports or word of good ice. Living close to an hour away I just couldn't justify the drive up only to find no ice. I am more than willing to try again on Friday if there is any.... just sayin... :)

I checked yesterday on my way home and Blackhawk isn't good IDK about long island

has anyone checked if anything is covered with skim ice?

I live on Grand Lake St. Marys and it is mostly covered in skim ice. I stood on the channel off a dock in an area protected from wind and pretty shaded, but did not drill a hole. I am guessing there is only 2-2.5" of ice. Probably about the same at Indian. I would not risk getting wet, way too early in the season.

agreed just was hoping for signs of the water temp being low enough for ice hopefully well be on it by Christmas!
