don't leave fish to find fish
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:18:08 PM »

I was catching and marking  fish almost all day today, around noon the crappie kinda of moved out of the area I was sitting on , so I started punching holes everywhere to "find them", well 2 guys that were about 50 yrds from me never moved, they stayed on the same holes during the slow period. When we walked off the ice they had a pretty good show for their patience 4 eyes and quite a few crappie along with some gill, me , the old saying applied all to well, don't leave fish to try and find fish.

That's what I've figured out this year also. If I'm lucky enough to find fish right away then that's where I'll stay. The afternoon bite seems to be better than the morning bite lately. They've been shutting down by 10am. Didn't get out till around 1 yesterday and I never had more than a 10 minute dry spell until I left at 530 due to the wind.
