General Discussion / Welcome Circle Tackle to the IFO family!!
« on: November 29, 2020, 08:08:52 PM »
We want to extend a warm welcome and big thank you to Circle Tackle for coming on board with 9 rods to give away as prizes for the tournament this year!!  I’ve used these rods for a couple years and love them.  And they have great tungsten and other jigs as well at reasonable prices.  There will be a limited drop of custom bloodworm jigs on Monday as well.  I’ve used his jigs for years, and those who have fished with me on PLX have witnessed firsthand how well they work. Especially that copper color.  ;D Thanks again to Nate (unrelated to our Nate) and the team at Circle Tackle!!

Didn’t personally make it and don’t know specifics, but there were quite a few guys out yesterday and this morning.  They were sitting on 3-4”.  Getting some nice perch and a few gills.   Near Rt 43 area and other normal early ice spots.   Probably won’t be fishable after the next couple days.

General Discussion / If the mice are any indication.......
« on: December 08, 2019, 04:38:01 AM »
I’ve never seen so many mice trying to get in my garage and barn in the 16+ years I’ve lived here.  I know they try and come in ahead of a bad winter, so I’m hoping they’re good weather forecasters and not just being a royal pain in the butt.  We’re due for a great ice season!

General Discussion / Attempting to register
« on: October 17, 2019, 06:38:17 PM »
If anyone has attempted to register the last couple weeks and received a rejection email please try again.  We were receiving over 1,000 spam “fake” member requests every day and having to delete all these.   And processing all those requests and rejections unfortunately there was a possibility a few legitimate members may have been erroneously turned away.   If this happened to you please try again and re-register.  The spam filter has been adjusted so there are no longer all the spam requests needing processed.  Sorry and thank you for your patience if you were affected.  We value your membership and want you in the IFO family!!

General Discussion / WORKING TO REMOVE THE SPAM
« on: October 12, 2019, 07:30:00 AM »
We're getting close to having all the spam off.  The WELCOME TO ICE FISH OHIO board is the only board with any spam left as of this writing.  There are about 80 pages of it so it might take a while, but the entire rest of the site is now spam free!

General Discussion / Wilcraft was out yesterday!!
« on: February 02, 2019, 09:14:47 AM »
Got the Wilcraft out on Portage yesterday.  Had a good 6-7” of ice everywhere I went.  Bite was excruciating slow.  A couple dink gills and 3 bass.  But 2 of the bass were over 4 pounds.  It was the lightest bite I’ve ever experienced there. They just didn’t want to take it.  And I hardly marked any fish. But the Wilcraft was awesome!!!  Easy to relocate, all my gear self-contained, no dragging anything around and safe!  My back and knees loved it!!!

« on: February 02, 2019, 07:16:03 AM »
Now that we have a nice ice base we get 5 days oo 50 degrees and some with heavy rain.   >:( I wonder how bad it’ll hurt the ice and what we’ll lose.  Just got my first Wilcraft trip yesterday and I want more!!!!

Bite on fire!  Was in 8 feet of water with tungsten jigs.   So glad to be out on the ice!!!  Got bass, crappie, and gills.  All decent no dink’s except a couple of the gills.  Steady bite all morning.   Will be out again tomorrow morning with the Wilcraft.   Was on 6-7” of good ice!

General Discussion / Wilcraft going out tomorrow
« on: January 15, 2019, 02:01:29 PM »
Will be heading to campground bay tomorrow morning around first light and fishing through the morning at least with the Wilcraft.  There are a few guys out there now on 2” so use caution if you venture out there!  I’m NOT endorsing that ice as safe, if you go use EXTREME CAUTION, but some had wanted me to let them know when I’ll be out with my machine.  Anyone who wants to check it out is welcome.

General Discussion / It just keeps on giving.......
« on: January 14, 2019, 12:42:55 PM »
Finally getting ice making temps and now Saturday into Sunday they’re calling for 10-16” of snow in Canton/Akron area.  6-10” with freezing rain mixed in for Columbus area. I sure hope they’re wrong.  We can’t get a break this year.  We haven’t had a storm of that magnitude in a while.  But if we do get that much it should force enough water up on the ice everything will melt and we can start over for February.  That would be better than 8” just sitting on the ice that forms this week.
