Title: Ice is NOT SAFE---
Post by: bucknuts on January 30, 2016, 08:29:57 PM: Buckeye ice is no longer safe. Guys went through near the shore and a spud bar goes thru 5" in one shot.

Stay off the ice for now and hope for colder weather.

Post by: Downthehole on January 31, 2016, 06:08:01 AM: I left at 3:30pm and the ice was getting dodgy near the shore. Big cracks and "springs" appearing when you walked near them. I called back to let folks know. Glad everyone got off the ice ok.....well maybe with wet feet.....

I was surprised this morning when I read the posts. It was melting that the edges but not too bad when I left....amazing what 2 hours can do....

If not, let it warm up and stay warm so we can the boats out. The tween times make me crazy. At least I can find some docks to wet my appetite.
