Saturday 1/6

Nothing like the peace and tranquility of ice fishing being disrupted by snowmobiles blowing 20 feet by you.

The best day ice fishing since we started 3 years ago.  We fished the North Fork area and we were throwing several different presentations catching gills and crappie.  Started around 9:00a and ended a little after 5:00p.  We ended up without about 10 keepers but threw back a bunch of dinks.

We didn’t fare so well.  We fish the mouth of North Fork, away from the main group.  I only caught a 10 1/2 inch crappie and white bass.
Met up with Andy and Josh. Josh was doing pretty good.
I left at 12:30 because I had to be back in Dayton.

Afternoon bite was pretty good. Got there about 330. Fished a little away from the pack 4 keeper eyes and 3 throwbacks. Keepers were 15 1/2,16,20, and 20 3/4. Vibes and pimples.

Got to Northfork lat myself. Talked with Josh and Andy awhile before fishing. Fished well away from the the pack and caught 4 keepers on 3/16 obsidian vibe in 5 ft. of water. My buddy got 2 on gold pimple with no bait. Had many fish check out blue/chrome jiggin rap but no biters only sniffers. Will give it a go again today. Personally, I like the snowmobile traffic during the day. It seems to sitr the fish up and get them moving. Good luck all.

I ended up catvhing a 17” keeper. Got schooled by Jpsh again. Overall, the day was slow, lots of marks but no bites. We fished from 6:30am - 6:00pm. We moved South of the Shanty ztown and fished closer to the right bank as you look down the channel from the bridge.

I’m glad you finally caught one. I am going out tomorrow. Probably to CJ Brown.

Got 4 keepers Sun. and a few shorts at Northfork on a 3/16 obsidian vibe in 4-5 ft. of water. My buddy got 2 keepers and a few shorts on gold pimple and 2 nice crappies on a vibe. Great to see 30inthabucket's wife catch her first ice fish, and it was a nice eye.
