Okay, Santa didn’t come through for us last year, but I still have faith. The long-term forecast really does look good for Ice fishing Kiser over Christmas vacation this year!
I’m 1.5hrs south, any locals out there that will have eyes on the Kiser ice this season?
Thanks, Mark

I want to give Indian Lake a shot in the next few weeks. I’m driving up from Cincinnati, and have never been to the lake. I’ve read previously that parking is an issue. On the map, I see several boat ramps. Is it safe to assume that there is legal parking and access near the boat ramps?

Looking forward to the upcoming ice season. I fished CJ a couple of times last year, it is a long drive from Cincinnati, and I?m thinking about staying in a cabin. Does anyone know if you can drag a sled from the cabins to the lake. It looks like a short trip on Google maps, but not sure about the elevation change. Is there typically good fishing in the area by the cabins? I?ve only fished the dam area.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Mark

I know this is a longshot, but I’m desperate. I’m looking for an ice report on Cowan Lake in Wilmington Ohio. Any current information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Mark

Only been once this year, and it was painfully slow. Just curious if the bit has picked-up yet?

I’m making the drive up on Saturday (there has to be 4” by then). Anyone else going to be on Kiser Saturday? I plan to be there at first light, and fish until dark (unless they are still biting). I will be in a Clam Scout with an orange Nills mounted on the front……stop by, and point me to the fish!

The weather looks promising for the next 5 days, and I’m ready for round 2! Has anyone seen the lake recently? Just curious if there was any ice left after the last few days. Kiser is a 1.5hr drive for me…please keep the ice reports coming.
Thanks, Mark

Has anyone been on Kiser? The ice reports sounded good last week, but I’m not sure how the rain & high temps impacted Kiser Saturday. I got my gear ready, put some finishing touches on the flip-over, and can’t wait to get on the ice. I plan to take Tuesday or Wednesday off to fish Kiser…if the ice cooperates.
Thanks! Mark

I told myself that since I’m waiting for 4”+ of ice, I really didn’t need to get a spud bar….I would just follow the crowd. However, I can’t wait for the crowd, and hope to get on the ice early next week (if Saturday doesn’t spoil the party). So, I don’t have time to order a “proper” ice chisel, and finding ice gear in SW Ohio is almost impossible. Is there something that I can get at a hardware store? This looks like it would do the trick, but at 17lbs it might just go through 6” of ice? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Atlas-70-in-Tamper-Head-Digging-Bar-GXB-441/202531238Any cheap recommendation that I can find locally would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Mark

Anyone plan to fish Kiser on Friday?
I hope to get there around 2pm, and fish until 6-6:30pm. I will be in a clam scout launching from the fishing pier across from the beach.

Second year iceman, and addicted. Kiser is my closest lake, but is over 1.5hrs away. I hope to hit it about 5 times, and maybe 15 total ice trips a year (if I'm lucky and the weather is right). Looking for my first shelter. 75% of my fishing will be solo.
Is it worth dragging a flip up for solo fishing?
Is it worth dragging a larger flip up for the additional room/ having space for a second fisher?
Is dragging a larger sled (30 lbs heavier) worth the extra space, and ability to accommodate an 2nd person? Thanks, Mark
