Off the beaten Path 1.4.18
« on: January 05, 2018, 08:34:16 AM »

Sometimes it pays to hike.   Moved well away from the herd on Thursday.  In fact was no one within 100+ yards.   Crappie started at about 2:30 and did not stop until I had a limit about 4:30.   All came on tungsten 4mm with spike and the tail only of a micro plastic in black. Really nice fish.   Switched over to eyes and nailed 3 over 19" on custom painted silver vibe and 4 throw backs.    It will be a zoo this weekend.  After fishing IL for 20+ years, I have learned one thing as a for sure.......Stay away from the guys with the gas power augers.

What, you don't want to tell us all where you were? We like limits too. Lol.
Jk. Nice haul. It's nice when you can find a good pod of fish and not have to share. And welcome to ifo.

Congrats on the fishing. I'm wanting to head up to Indian on Sunday. I have never fished it before. How bad is the crowd? Is it complete chaos? Good luck out there guys.

It will be busy.  If your fishing anywhere but Blackhawk, get there early.
