IceFishOhio Group Fishing Trip
on:
February 05, 2010, 10:35:12 AM
Hey Guy's,
I want to say how great is has been meeting so many new fisherman and making so many new friends.
I want to plan a get together and try a new lake. I was thinking of a trip to Northern Indiana, Pa or Michigan. If not a road trip due to the economy than a get together here in Ohio.
Where would like to try?

I'd like to go north.... deeper clearer water in some of those glacial lakes they have in Michigan would be something I'd bite on. Need to know a few weeks in advance.

God bless and ill keep watching for updates. Dave

Houghton Lake, Michigan- the biggest party on ice happens there every year.

I fished Wamplers last year in the Ice Man Series event. We finished around 39 out of 150 teams. They do have big red ears and crappies but i would not go back up to fun fish. I think we could get a better spot.
I was thinking Prescue bay in Pa or even Lake Simcoe which is North of Toronto. Lake Simcoe has monster perch and many numbers. The Shanty Rentals were only $40 per day and we would have to check on the rooms.

You need a passport stamp to go to Canada now. They have the option of getting the passport swipe card now that allows you to cross into Canada and Mexico, but it's too much wait and trouble to be a viable trip this year.. If you have your passport however, it would be worth it.
I'd love to do Simcoe next year.
Presque would be pretty cool, as would Chataqua. What about the Detroit River?

Same here, it's all about the when and where. I finally got some work for the next week and a half and my fishing will be limited the next couple of weeks, and Saturdays are out for me.
