Title: Otsego or Houghton?
Post by: wballard77 on January 13, 2013, 04:27:53 PM
I'm going to take a trip in a few weeks and I'm not sure where to go. I was going to Saginaw but safe ice doesn't look possible any advice on Houghton or Otsego?

I've heard houghton has a decent amount of pike but I don't the pan fishing is all that great. Never heard of Otsego so I can't help you there.

I heard otsego was horrible and houghton is also on a downhill slide... If your waiting a few weeks I would have no doubt saginaw will be safe they are looking a lot better than us!

I would call Bob Lee at Houghton Lake he has good service and good prices on rooms.  I was there last year.

Just a heads up in case you consider Saginaw Bay.
