alright all u ice experts, i want to go to buckeye saturday, heard buck had 5" of ice, how safe will the ice be with 5 or 6" of snow on it, remeber i'm a rookie and just want to be safe

with that much ice already formed and the temps being what they are going to be they snow cover should not affect it too much. wont be as much light penatration though. my concern is the high pressure system moving in. that could affect the bite
be safe, it aint no fun if you dont live to lie about it

Please remeber no ice is ever safe. There has been fisherman on Buckeye and have not had any problems but you need to check the ice to be carefull.
Just make sure you know where to access the lake. Most guys put in at Fairfield beach. The house on the Island has an areator. Stay a good ways away from it.
You should be able to see the tracks that everyone is using.
Doug Stewart knows the lake very well and is a pro staff member. Hopefully he can put some input on this one.
