Title: Portage Lks/Old State Park: 12/18/10
Post by: Big Daddy on December 18, 2010, 04:59:56 PM
Got sort of a late start this AM but made it out on the ice with my son Nick. 4 to 5 inches of ice. Set up in around 6 FOW and immediately started pulling bluegills. We ended up with 60+ fish (lost count) but most were dinks. Did get a small pike or muskie... had no marks on it so I'm thinking muskie. Moved around a couple times but could only weed out 12 or so keepers. All fish were released.
Great day to be out. There were 8 or 10 others out too. Silver was the hot color, along with chartruse. We used wax worms.

Seems to be the norm, haven't heard of any great takes up here yet.  Hope to get some later this week.  I think I might try Nimisilla.  Usually can get some keepers there.
