Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just don't know about. Great!!  Good catch!   
I did make it out yesterday on Portage.  Tons of fish, but nothing great.  9” crappies and gills from 3-9”.  It might be one and done this year for me.  Hoping for a weather turn around!

Nettle lake / 2024 Opener

Finally got out yesterday afternoon around 3 pm.  I set up over 20FOW on 5" of good ice and 5" of powdered snow, light wind, and plenty of sunshine.  I marked lots of fish but I had no takers using plastics.  It was still a great day to be out.

New PB for me. 18 inches on a small tungsten jig tipped with a waxie. Caught on a Clam ice team ultra-light rod with an Eagle Claw in-line reel. Quite a battle taking drag with several runs. I was so afraid that the 4 lb line would break!

Started at Blackhawk on Saturday morning. 6in measured  moved around quite a bit. So so bite.  Great to be out as my feet never touched ice last season. Get it now as it looks like the warm up is coming soon.

Today, Saturday was slower action than Wednesday, but I still caught a few. Lots of small fish so far this year. Tuesday may be the last day for a while.
