Looking for any reports from Kiser, figuring this weekend will be a no good but looking forward to next ;D Maybe we can keep this post going for 2016
-
I will be checking thickness today and post my findings.
-
Just got back there is 2-3" I think I will try tomorrow. East end.
-
I have never fished this lake in the Winter. I'm going to wait until I hear it has no less than 4. I imagine with the temps that are coming Monday might be the day to see what she's holding.
-
Checked the ice tonight the west side was 3.5" of clear ice, and the east side was 3.25". Someone took a shanty out from the pier on the east end.
-
I'm sure there will be plenty this morning. LOL.
-

Went out Tuesday on Kiser for first time this year fished the east end of lake there was 4 or 5 guys out there ice was 4 to 5 inches and building more. caught 25 keeper gills in 5 hours anything with orange on it with a wax worm was working but they wanted the bait moving jigged hard for some reason also 4 to 5 feet was the depth

Anyone doing any good today on kiser?
-
a huge group of IFO and OGF'rs fished there Thursday, Friday and today, most of us were on the upper end, ice today was almost 6", bite has been steady but slow unless you freak into a rare honeyhole but lots of 7-8" gills being caught, a few, very few, crappies and most Ive seen or heard were short, and a few decent LMB caught here and there, waxies mostly, Perch been slow also, I got only 1 I heard about today and on Thursday, both about 9", Thursday was over 40 people on the upper end, today over 50, getting VERY crowded, we moved out of the pack and did as well or better on our own, I hate when folks just go to the groupings of shanties and fish right next to you. Hitting it tomorrow as well only because I HATE Indian with a passion and have heard some real horror stories in the last 3 days with parking near Blackhawk and Long Island, LOL

Went out this afternoon Fished from 4Pm till 6PM caught 2 perch one 9" and one 10" my partner caught 2 nice keeper bluegill. perch were caught on small silver hologram spoon tipped with a minnow. bluegill caught on a small glow jig and a midge. Headed back out in the Morning. Got to try out my new flip up sled and Lowrance Mark 5 elite flasher, both worked great.

Was up yesterday with a newbie...he is hooked😀
I was with Tin guppy. Headed back out same area Salmonid, be out on ice 6:30. Prob same area or might get a wild hair and hit North bay. Seems to be less crowded there for sure.

Thursday: went with 2 other guys. 1 perch and kept 20 blue hills.
Friday: went by myself. Fished 2 hours. Kept 36 keeper blue gill and lost a 13 inch crappie at the hole.(see picture)
Saturday: fished with 1 other person. Kept 20 BG. Caught a single 9" crappie.

fished today with Pondfin@ic and his daughter Alaina, got there at or before sunup and already a dozen guys out... anyways we did well on gills, 34 of em, half would have kept maybe, we released them all. No crappies or perch from any of the dozen or so groups we talked to early. all in the first 2 hrs then the switch was thrown, I talked to everyone who all had a similar story, all on spikes or waxies, really crowded as we left around 10 am, over 60 folks I estimated on upper end. so we left and headed to a private pond, I did get 2 bass on minnows, 3.5 and a 3 lber, loved that!! Looks like tomorrow may be the last day of the early season. Im hitting 3 spots near Dayton tomorrow early afternoon, will bounce around till I get to good ice and hit it hard till dark. be safe folks, .

Hey Bruce what's a blue hill? are they hard to catch? I have never caught one, do they get very big? ;D ;D ;D ::)
-
Got out again this Morning fished from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM, caught a bass right off then 6 keeper blue gill and 2 perch.
-
Fished Sunday from 8:30am – 3:00pm. Mixed bag of mostly gills, but did get a couple of bass, a nice crappie, and the perch below. I bounced between a jig & a slender spoon (both tipped with waxies). They seemed to want something moving, and the slender spoon out fished the jig 2:1. Tons of people out there…..shame the weather is going to spoil everyone’s fun!!!
