Title: 1/23
Post by: kensar on January 23, 2015, 11:03:13 PM
Went out for a few hours and did ok. Came home with 5 nice crappies and a bluegill. Caught 15 small saugeye and one 14.5" all throwbacks. The crappie and saugeye were caught on an orange slender spoon. We fished 6-7 ft of water, ice was 6-7 inches.

Thank you for the ice update and report. I have only fished that lake once and am hoping to be there Sunday morning. I feel better hearing the ice is good. Is most of the Lake safe or are there areas that are known to be thinner than others typically?

GreenPea,use a spud bar in current areas such as mouths of channels, streams n rivers. A little common sense and youll be fine. Bring a buddy and catch them all. Leave your rattle traps home. Vibes, pimples and spoons is what the locals dont tell us outta towners who own the lake aslo.

I fished north fork in the morning, marked fish, they would follow the vibe but not hit, caught 1 about 7" long (saugeye). Went to another area caught blue gill all day and some real nice crappie. We were only in 3.5- 4' of water
