BERLIN WALLEYE TOURNAMENT

Here's the official information for the Berlin Lake ice walleye tournament:

EVENT INFORMATION:

DATE: Sunday January 26, 2014
LOCATION:  A&C Fish and Game will host both check-in and weigh-in.  They're located at:
17487 West Akron Canfield Road (St. Rt. 224) Berlin Center, Ohio 44401

TIME: Check-in 6:30 A.M. and weigh-in will be 2:00 P.M.

Entry fees will be $20.00/per team.  Option to fish alone is acceptable.  There will be an optional $5 big walleye pot and an additional optional $5 biggest non-walleye pot.  Cash at ramp preferred.  100% payback!!

There will be coffee and hot dogs at the tournament, so please post in this thread if you're coming, that way Chuck and I know how many to plan for.    Thanks in advance!

We will be "launching" near the old road bed across the street form A&C.  There will be plenty of parking available around this area.  It will be a walking event from this launch for safety reasons.  YOU MUST WEIGH IN EVEN IF YOU GET SKUNKED, THAT WAY ALL CAN BE ACCOUNTED FOR!

We're hoping to have some prizes to give away as well.  IFO will give a Jason Mtichell rod/reel combo away too.

All length limits for Berlin will be observed when weighing-in fish.  Live bait is welcome.  All anglers must have proper ice safety equipment with them and in good working order.

All Berlin's waters are open to fishing.  NO FROZEN FISH CAN BE WEIGHED IN!!

The official entry form is attached below.  Hope to see everyone there.

Tip-ups for now will be 6 per team. But we'll play that by ear. If the ice is crowded and we have a large turnout, we may do rod and reels only. Then it would be 2 rods per person, one deadstick and one held in your hand. Or both could be deadsticks, they'd just have to be within 10 feet of your shanty.

I will have a 2 man team plus another single.
Do you think the ice will form?
All the reports I read mentioned the lake still wide open on 12/14?
Most lakes I saw were all ready locked up with 2" clear ice.

Hoping for a deep freeze after this thaw.

If it's open we'll set an alternate date.  Maybe sometime early February.  I'll get with Chuck and find out what works if we can't do it in January.
