Clear Fork Reservoir
on:
February 03, 2013, 07:34:29 PM
Hello I am new to this forum and wanted to post some information on ice fishing at the Clear Fork Reservoir. I went in front of council about two weeks ago and introduced legislation to allow ice fishing. I am waiting on final approval and should hear something in the next two or three weeks. After approval I will post information on here as we'll as on the city of Mansfield's web site.

Catching a musky through ice is hard but I would love to try it been long time since I have musky fished.

Great Job!
If you need a petition I am sure we could get a 1,000 great members to sign it.
Focus on the economic impact that it would bring to the local bait shops, restaurants, gas stations and motels.
Also point out that sites like IFO promote and teach ice safety!

would be a win all the way ...i wish meander lake could be nuged into opening for use ....seems a shame to have a large body of water unused...

does anyone know the reason why ice fishing isn't permitted there? liability maybe? it's been that way as long as i can remember, (which is a long time
).

I talked to ODNR today and they told me that the city of youngstown owns it. im guessn liability is a main reason. But the only time they have allowed any fishing at all , is when they hold a special tourney for handicap people. To me thats a great idea coming from the city. since fishing isnt permitted it would give the less fortunate a chance to catch some good fish.
